Foodie Diary: Day Five || Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall

As we’re heading into my final full day in Montego Bay, I felt the need to re-enter into food crawl mode – and I can’t imagine a better way to wrap up my vacation..

Date: Friday, August 5th

10:00 AM: Beachside Breakfast
We mixed things up and headed to HoriZonZ for breakfast this morning – we’d previously only dined there for lunch & dinner. The breakfast was just as good – maybe even better – than the other meals! We started with fresh fruit and toast & jam [plus coffee, of course]. For my main course, I indulged in French Toast yet again – with a side of bacon & eggs. We took in all of this while listening to the waves crash onto the beach – have I mentioned how much this felt like paradise?!



1:00 PM: Lunch, part one
Today was another day of two lunches…Lunch #1 began at West End Grill – just a few steps away from the pool, where I was spending the afternoon. The Jerk BBQ Wings were calling my name! They were grilled to perfection & the jerk sauce truly put the finishing touch on them. I also couldn’t pass up the beef kabobs that I saw on the menu. The beef was perfectly grilled, SO tender, & juicy – needless to say, a Red Stripe was necessary to top off this meal.



3:00 PM: Lunch, part two
A few more hours by the pool & I was ready for lunch #2. I headed back over to Barefoot JerkZ to have one last serving of grilled jerk chicken – alongside rice & beans and coco bread. It was just a delicious as the day before. As usual, I felt the need for a dessert so I made my way over to BiteZ Deli & Cafe for scoop of ice cream – with rainbow sprinkles – and a freshly baked black & white cookie. By this point, I could safely say I was full.



7:30 PM: Final Dinner
If there’s any kind of food that I never get sick of, it’s Mexican. Lucky for me, it was Mexican night at ChoiceZ Buffet. Of course, there was a plethora of options to choose from but I decided to create my own nachos. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made. I started with tortilla chips, topped with queso, grilled veggies, grilled beef, black beans, jalapeño, salsa, & guac – I’m drooling just thinking about it again. Fruit tarts, beignets, and fried cinnamon sugar tortillas were the cherry on top of this meal!



Now that I’m back in the U.S [and back to reality], I could definitely use a cleanse, but don’t regret one single bite from the entire trip.
