Restaurant Review: Earls Kitchen + Bar

Rating: A-
Neighborhood: Lincoln Park

Back again with another brunch review! Last weekend I had a fab girls’ brunch at Earls Kitchen + Bar at Lincoln Park’s NewCity. [btw – If you happen to be at NewCity – do yourself a favor and stop by that be-a-utiful Mariano’s.] Earls is a well-established, family-run Canadian restaurant that’s beginning to make headway in the US and we’re lucky enough to have a location right here in Chicago! Earls is quietly tucked into NewCity right off of Clybourn – with a patio that is sure to be packed once the weather warms up.

The quirky decor inside the restaurant – from the printed menus to trumpets mounted into the wall – all add to the Earls experience, but I came here for the food – so let’s get down to it. First of all, what’s a brunch without a drink? Not a proper brunch, that’s for sure. On Sundays – which is the day I was dining – Earls offers their Signature Caesar for a mere $4. Caesar is Canadian for Bloody Mary & it was worth every penny.

For my entree I had the Goat Cheese Frittata and let’s just say that I did not regret my choice – although, it was EXTREMELY hard to decide between that and the mouthwatering Sourdough French Toast. This savory dish was flavorful, the eggs were fluffy, and the pesto underneath the frittata was a very welcome surprise. I could have easily eaten another!

As if the entrees weren’t enough, Earls does a solid and brings complimentary muffins to the table once the meal was complete. No meal is truly complete without a little dessert!

If you’re in the mood for brunch this weekend – let’s be real, you absolutely are – then definitely include Earls into your plans!

What are some of your favorite brunch spots in Chicago?
