Homemade Tortilla Chips

If you’re anything like myself, then 99% of the time you’re in the mood for Mexican food – that outstanding 1% is reserved almost exclusively for cupcakes and ice cream. One of the best things about Mexican restaurants is the freshly baked tortilla chips and salsa served the moment you sit down. In less than 15 minutes and with only 3 simple ingredients you can recreate that sense of euphoria at home with this Homemade Tortilla Chips recipe.

– 4 tortillas
– 1 tbsp. olive oil
– 1/2 tsp. sea salt

Prep time: 1 minute – Cook time: 10 minutes – Total time: 11 minutes


1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Using your hands or a basting brush, rub one side of each tortilla (I used cayenne flavored tortillas for an extra kick) with olive oil and stack all tortillas into one pile.


2. Using a pizza cutter or knife, slice tortillas into 8 even sections.


3. Spread tortilla pieces into a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle salt on tortillas and toss.


4. Bake tortilla pieces for approx. 10 minutes, until golden brown.


Serve your chips with a side of guac or whip up some nachos – enjoy!
